Ask almost anyone what makes a community desirable, and you’re likely to find great schools at or near the top of the list. In 2016, Wellesley families have access to a number of highly rated learning institutions. We’ve chosen a couple of the top options to consider this February.
- Schofield Elementary School
- Wellesley High School
Children thrive in a supportive, comfortable learning environment. That’s just what you’ll find at Schofield Elementary School. Children receive a level of teaching considered on par with what is found at elite private schools. Teachers and administrators strive to create a sense of community in which students feel comfortable, encouraged and engaged. After school, kids can participate in sports ranging from track and field to basketball.

Wellesley High School offers an educational experience that will last well beyond 2016. Young adults receive a progressive education to prepare them for the academic and real-world challenges that lie ahead. Open communication between faculty, administrators and parents is one of the keys to ensuring students’ success. Students are encouraged to reach beyond their perceived capabilities and enroll in advanced courses that suit their interests. In addition to swimming, hockey, basketball and other athletic offerings, the high school hosts a wide range of extracurricular activities. Student government, performing arts, community service and other programs aid in older children’s development.

Whether your children are elementary school-aged or just a few years away from heading off to college, Wellesley schools offer everything they need to prepare for the future while enjoying the learning experience. In 2016, area schools offer academic, social and athletic programs that meet or exceed institutional and parental standards.
